Activity

In order to ensure the development of large port infrastructures to allow the access to large cargo vessels, it is necessary to deepen the seabed. Furthermore, very often harbour areas are particularly difficult from a geotechnical point of view, either because of the presence of loose soils at the sea bed, or because many harbours have been constructed in geologically recent areas, where subsoil is loose down to great depths.

Research activities focus on the selection of the appropriate numerical scheme and of the soil constitutive modelling to better represent the observed behaviour of real cases.

Monitoring, back analysing of data, numerical modelling are the key issues  for these studies.
