TOPIC: BUILDING SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

Responsible: Prof. Francesca Stazi

LOCATION: Borgo Ruffini, Agugliano

DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT AND MAIN TESTS:

Test room with dimensions of 5.35 x 3.35 m, created to simulate a living environment and to carry out comparative experimental analyses on alternative envelopes types and finishing/claddings of different technologies and materials.

The test room is equipped with an air conditioning system made with radiant ceiling panels and a Data acquisition system for environmental and surface temperatures and heat flows, implemented for real-time data acquisition. The external envelope has a cross-laminated timber load bearing panels, with external and internal insulation (of 10 and 5 cm respectively) and a plasterboard finish on the internal side. On the southern side, a glazed greenhouse is used to compare alternative transparent facades and smart coatings for glazed units.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Studies can also be carried out for commissioned works.
