  • DESCRIPTION OF AVAILABLE EQUIPMENTS AND TESTS:
    In the Bionanotechnolgy Lab, liquid crystalline and polymeric nanosystems are designed, prepared and characterized to be applied in the drugs and genetic delivery.
    Equipment available in the lab:
    • Light Scattering Zetasizer (Nano-ZS, Nanoseries, Malvern)
    • Sonics Vibra Cell Sonicator;
    • Speed-vac Concentrator (Savant SPD111V);
    • Centrifuge Hettich 35000rpm;
    • Major Science Electrophoresisapparatus

CHEMISTRY LAB – Thematic Sector: INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY LAB

  • DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT AND THE MAIN TESTS:
    • Perkin Elmer FTIR spectrometer, Spectrum GXI equipped with a Perkin-Elmer AutoImage microscope (with HgCdTe detector, MCT) and supplied with accessories for acquiring liquid, solid and aqueous solution samples (Drift, Micro, U-ATR and Circle );
    • Perkin Elmer NIR Spectrum One spectrometer;
  • The Infrared Spectroscopy Laboratory applies FTIR Imaging Microspectroscopy and NIR spectroscopy to the study of organic, inorganic and biological compounds in different physical states.
  • THIRD-PARTY TESTS: it is possible to carry out third-party tests on synthetic polymers, engineering materials and biocompatible materials. Concerning the forms, refer to the secretariat of the department.

CHEMISTRY LAB – Thematic Sector: ORGANIC SYNTHESIS AND EPR SPECTROSCOPY

  • DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT AND THE MAIN TESTS:
    • In the lab the synthesis and the study of new derivatives as Antioxidants,to be employedin Biological as wellas Polymeric Systems, is carried out. Such an activity makes also use of the Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, for the presence of a last-generation spectrometer equipped with a Variable Temperature apparatus and the possibility to directly irradiate inside the Resonance Cavity, also employed in the study of the Oxidative Degradation of Polymeric Materials.
